Mark Writtle is a professional photographer of over 30 years experience in Railways, motorsport, Newspapers and Public Relations. His work is now sold at over 2 dozen heritage railways and tourist attractions around the United Kingdom through our bespoke gift product range.

He is now offering courses to use his knowledge and expertise of photography to customers who would like to learn a little bit more about their own photography and SLR (Single lens Reflex) cameras.

These courses will be made up of a full days tuition with Mark in and around the chosen railway.

The day will commence at 9am at a designated location (usually the main station), where you will meet Mark and have a brief introduction to your day ahead photographing the steam trains.

Mark will take you out to some of his favourite locations on the railway, and show you how to get the best photographs using the light correctly, composition and perspective. Whilst we will not be walking too far on locations, you will need to be reasonably fit and have good walking boots and suitable outdoor clothing.

A break will be taken for lunch before a further session of photography along the railway will take place in the afternoon. (We advise that you bring your own packed lunch as it may not be possible to obtain any whilst on location).

At the end of the day we will review the days pictures and you will then receive one of Marks commemorative mugs and coaster to mark your experience.

The cost for the day will be £125.00 (inc vat) per person payable to Writtle Photographic Ltd in advance. Please e-mail us or phone 01746 767929 to arrange your booking.

*Arrangements can be made for alternative dates should the weather forecast for the day be too inclement for photography*
